Pre-Blended Herbal Hair Colours

This range consists of 12 shades due to the addition of vegetable colourings, herbs and spices (always 100% natural). These Pre-Blended Colours can also be mixed together for a personalised shade. Please contact us if you would like some suggestions.

Use the Pre-Blended Colours to enhance your hair's natural colour and highlights or create a deeper, richer shade. The colours are translucent, giving light and dark tones throughout the hair wherever there is a variation of colour producing a natural looking result. Henna cannot make your hair lighter because it does not have any harsh chemicals to strip away the colour.

Results will vary for those with grey hair depending on the particular shade used. In general, the colour will show brighter on grey and white hairs due to it having a lighter base colour. This can give a lovely highlight effect for those with a scattering of grey hair throughout, whereas more concentrated areas of grey hair will achieve better coverage with our 100% Pure Hair Colour Range.

These Pre-Blended Colours also have fantastic conditioning properties. They will provide extra body to the hair, making it smoother, softer and easier to brush. Your hair will become glossy, dandruff-free and healthy.

Henna needs to be applied heavily, as a mud-pack, to achieve a rich colour with even coverage. We recommend using the following amounts for each application;

• 50g - for each re-growth touch-up application

• 100g - 150g - for above shoulder-length hairstyles

• 200g - 250g - for long hair

*An extra 50g - 100g may be required for those with extra-long or very thick hair types.

Ingredients will vary with colour selected. Blends of natural powdered herbs: Henna Leaf (lawsonia inermis), Cassia Leaf (cassia obovata), Indigo Leaf (indigofera tinctoria), Amla Berry (emblica officinalis), Chamomile Flower (anthemis nobilis), Beetroot (beta vulgaris)

100% Pure Hair Colour Range

For those who are looking for 100% Pure Powders to create custom blends then look no further. We stock fresh, high-quality Henna, Indigo, Cassia and Amla powders. By preparing each herb individually, prior to combining them together (as we have with our Pre-blended Hair Colours), we can create a dye that has maximum effect. This is essential for those who would like to achieve better coverage of grey hair or those who require a longer-lasting colour.

These 100% Pure Hair Colours need to be applied heavily, as a mud-pack, to achieve a rich colour with even coverage. We recommend using the following amounts for each application;

Custom Blends - Use the following ratios as a guide to achieve a variety of colours. It's easy to customise your own blend with a set of kitchen scales, just be sure to keep the powders seperate during preparation and combine together just before application.

Alternatively, you may prefer to let us know which colour blend you would like (from the list below) and which quantity you need (from the list above) and we will be happy to calculate and supply your powders in pre-measured portions (eg. 34g Henna + 66g Indigo = 100g Total, etc).

• (Less Bright) Red - 3 parts Henna to 1 part Indigo

• Brownish Auburn Red - 2 parts Henna to 1 part Indigo

• Medium Warm Brown - Equal amounts of Henna and Indigo

• Rich Dark Brown - 1 part Henna to 2 parts Indigo

• Darkest Brown - 1 part Henna to 3 parts Indigo

• Black - Use Henna first the apply Indigo seperately

*Add Amla to assist dye absorption, create cooler tones and provide extra body to the hair. Use 25g Amla for each 100g of Henna and/or Indigo.

*Add Cassia to lessen the colour and provide extra shine and conditioning. Use more Cassia to make the colour more subtle. For just a hint of colour, try a gloss - 9 parts Cassia to 1 part Henna and/or Indigo.

100% Pure Henna for Hair

Our 100% Pure Henna for Hair is a body art quality powder, finely-sifted with a superior dye content. It is shipped to us directly from the grower, ensuring it's freshness and purity.

Natural Henna has a red-orange dye molecule which will penetrate and dye your hair's keratin. The result will be a combination of your starting colour and the red-orange colour of natural henna. For example, 100% Pure Henna will show as a vibrant red on blonde hair, as auburn on brown hair and it will provide a red shine to black hair.

Grey and white hair will become bright copper red due to it having a lighter base colour. This can give a lovely highlight effect for those with a scattering of grey hair throughout, whereas more concentrated areas of grey hair will benefit from the inclusion 100% Pure Indigo to achieve a deeper shade of colour. Adding a little Indigo to the mix will tone the brightness of the Henna whereas a lot of Indigo in the mix will change the colour from red to brown.

100% Pure Indigo for Hair

Our 100% Pure Indigo for Hair is a high quality powder, finely-sifted with a superior dye content. It is shipped to us directly from the grower, ensuring it's freshness and purity.

Natural Indigo has a dark-blue dye molecule which will penetrate and dye your hair's keratin. The result will be a combination of your starting colour and the dark-blue colour of natural indigo. For example, 100% Pure Indigo will show as a grey-blue rinse on blonde hair, as a blue-charcoal tone on brown hair and it will provide a cool blue-black colour to black hair.

Of course, these blue-ish shades are not for everyone. In fact, Indigo provides it's best results when used in conjuction with 100% Pure Henna. The dark-blue colour of Indigo balances with the red-orange colour of natural Henna, producing rich reds (without being brassy or bright), earthy chestnut browns and deep, warm brunette tones. A glossy black colour can also be achieved by using both Henna and Indigo, when used in the correct technique.

Grey and white hairs are covered very effectively with the combination of Henna and Indigo, provided the correct preparation and application techniques are followed. It is important to use a high-quality Henna which has had time for dye-release before adding Indigo in the suitable proportion. Adding a little Indigo to the mix will tone the brightness of the Henna whereas a lot of Indigo in the mix will change the colour from red to deep brown. 100% Pure Cassia for Hair

Our 100% Pure Cassia for Hair is a high quality powder, finely-sifted with superior conditioning properties. It is shipped to us directly from the grower, ensuring it's freshness and purity.

Natural Cassia contains a minute amount of golden dye pigment, however this tint is so mild that it will not be visible on most hair colours (and no need to wear plastic gloves!). The only hair colours which may see a subtle change is white hair and bleached light blonde hair. This can provide a lovely toning effect for those with very light hair colours by toning down the brightness of white or over-bleached hair by adding a subtle warmth.

Cassia is best known for it's fantastic conditioning properties. It will provide extra body to the hair, making it smoother, softer and easier to brush. Cassia will leave your hair glossy, dandruff-free and healthy.

Use Cassia in your Pre-blended Herbal Colours or Henna and/or Indigo mixes to lessen the colour and provide extra shine and conditioning. Use more Cassia to make the colour more subtle. For just a hint of colour, try a gloss - 9 parts Cassia to 1 part Pre-blended Herbal Colour or Henna and/or Indigo mix.
