We offer packs which have been separated into individual portions which allows for accurate measurement when mixing up a batch of fresh henna paste - ideal for beginners and digital scales are not required!

10g henna powder is enough to create over 10 palm-sized henna designs:

For those who are more experienced in mixing henna paste (or if you have a set of digital kitchen scales), JAMILA henna powder is also available in original 100g packs (No individually measured 10g portions) for a lesser price.

Choose from 3 tip sizes:

• SMALL (0.5mm) – perfect for creating extra-fine lines for very intricate patterns
• MEDIUM (0.7mm) – a good all-rounder, suitable for producing both fine and bold detail
• LARGE (0.9mm) – ideal for bold lines and filling in large areas of a design

Applicator Cones - Disposable triangular icing-bags, hand-rolled from mylar sheets. Cones are a popular choice for traditional henna artists. They may require a little more practice for beginners, however they are less tiring on the hand when applying henna for a long period of time. The tip of the cone can be trimmed to suit your needs, producing fine or bold lines.

Certain essential oils are used to help strengthen the colour of natural henna dye. Those which naturally contain terpinols (an active constituent) are chosen to be added in small quantities to the henna paste during preparation.

It is important to use high-grade, quality essential oils which are 100% pure as diluted oils and synthetic fragrant oils are not able to deepen the henna stain.

Essential oils which contain a high level of terpinols are the most effective. These include:

• Cajeput - melaleuca cajeputi
• Tea Tree – melaleuca alternifolia
• Niaouli – melaleuca veridiflora

Other essential oils which have medium amounts of terpinols are:

• Lavender – lavendula augustifolia
• Geranium – pelargonium graveolens
• Cardamom – elettaria cardamomum

Low levels of terpinols are found in the following essential oils:

• Rosemary – rosmarinus officinalis
• Thyme – thymus vulgaris
• Juniper – juniperus communis

When mixing henna paste for body art we recommend using 5ml essential oil per 10g henna powder.

Cajeput - melaleuca cajeputi - A popular choice, cajeput essential oil intensifies the henna colour beautifully. It smells nice, is gentle on the skin and gives consistently good results.

Tea Tree - melaleuca alternifolia –An excellent essential oil to produce deep stains. Tea tree has a fresh, zingy scent & suits many skin types.

Lavender – lavendula augustifolia – The safest choice for use during pregnancy, lavender essential oil helps to improve the staining power of henna. It has a lovely floral fragrance and is soothing when applied to sensitive skin.

Herbal Blend Skin Prep – This is used to cleanse the skin before applying henna, it gently removes any barriers to allow the henna dye to stain deeply. A refreshing blend of witch hazel extract, lavender and rosewater.
